hi potters..
i am looking for some informaion about building a gas kiln, around 15 cuft.,
downdraft and portable. i also want to do some wood fireing..
if anyone could throw some ideas, will be WONDERFUL :)))

Hi Dilek, it sounds like you are describing a 'Fastfire'
kiln. You will find the plans in 'The Kiln Book', by
Fred Olsen.
This is a small wood fired kiln that can be built to fire
with either gas or wood.
If you are going to build a kiln, Olsen's book is worthwhile
reading even if you decide on a design other than his.

Dilek,
Someone will undoubtedly tell you to get a book or two on building
kilns, one of which will be Daniel Rhodes'. I saw a copy of that book
at my local used bookstore the other day. Call Vandewater Books in
Seattle, Washington, at 206-633-3040. I didn't look to see how much
they wanted for it, but my guess would be about $10.
