We are in the formative stages of building something as a memorial to
the recent events of war. At this point we are developing a wall mural
in tiles, various media tiles, odd sized tiles and from different kinds
of people. At the center we will create a fountain in remembrance of
the spilled blood and tears of that specific event. Then, on the two
walls adjacent we want to place the individual tiles of remembrance.
The location of this mural is yet to be determined but won't be a
problem as memorials and new buildings crop up.
So we need your help in two ways. First we are looking for contributing
artists who want to express their feelings. These tiles probably should
be on the order of no larger than 6X6 or 8X8 and could be in any of the
media you folks work in.
Second, we need to get the word out. This is the first message I've
sent and it's still pretty early in the morning; guess how we spent our
night? I'd like to get in touch with as many artists and other folks
who are willing to expend the effort in whatever medium. How do I do
that? Any web site or email list I could get to would be great but I
don't know which ones.
As this thing comes together, I'll put up a web site to show the
individual tiles and the overall plan. This thing could get big in a
hurry so any advice you can give, as well as your contribution in clay
will be respected and appreciated.
We need to morn, to deal with our anger and to express to the world what
this has done to us. Will you help?
