ive been hearing alot about the geil downdraft sytem and i even called
some kiln company several years ago and asked if they would be interested
in some new technology and they said no so i guess ill begin selling
downdraft kilns i have a design that i got from micheal frimkess who got
it from a tradesman in maine who has since left us and he said he got it
from a japanese potter who got it from korea and what it is is "the
golden dimentions"a formula of how much heat into how much space at what
rate with reduction at specific junctures in the firing it has up until
now been done by hand the moving of the damper the adjustment of primary
and secondary air etcetera but im going to make a device that will move
the damper and the primary and secondary air and all that in a sequence
that is subject to patent laws because i have experienced that every time
a little guy comes out with something the big guy wants some of it or all
of it so im telling everyone right now im going to come out with my new
line of kilns that beats any others by a mile and im going to patent the
thing because not only is the material configuration scientifically
designed for optimum efficiency but the timing of the procedures that
accompany the kiln and its operation are of utmost import

I'm confused. It seems to me that what you are talking about Geil has done.

yeah i guess so ,ill just keep my bright ideas to myself ..ive only made
like four kilns in my whole life and i think i have alot more reaserch
and development to do in that area before i talk about the commercial
viability of any alternative configurations ,right
