Dear Chris,
I have been exploring your website with pleasure and wanted to tell you
that I really enjoyed both your work and the way you present it on the
web. For me the most exciting work was the raku fish plates-evocative
of both clay process and the natural world that is the pieces's content.
The way you have organized your work according to the glazeused brings
up an interesting question. Does the surface you choose inform the form
you make, or does the form you make ask to be 'clothed' after its making
in a specific glaze? Is it conceptually two balls that you try to
juggle simultaneously? Is it a case of form dictating surface or doues
the idea of form/surface seem like a false dichotomy to you? The way
you organized your website and the variety of forms with which you work
gave me an intriguing sliver of insight about your approach..I'd like to
hear what you think...
