When I asked my good friend who makes all the metal tools for me to
build A slab- roller. I had a printing press in my studio. That was one
starting point. The second was the size of my old kiln shelves 15X15
inches.
My friend made a metal frame 30X15 inches. And above it a half inch
thickness plywood, longer than the frame, about 40X15.
To the bottom of the plywood he connected four small ball bearings a way
that they could run smoothly on the frame. On top of the frame is the roller.
I can add or remove more boards of plywood.

The roller was too smooth so my friend Shimon, carved in it. I think the
turning wheel has to be bigger. The first time I roll, it is pretty hard to
turn. In the second, I add an old piece of carpet,to make the slab thinner,
goes well.
Poor people's slab roller- but works well. Perhaps you may combine,
some of it's ideas with the other ideas we got this week
