Dear Cindy,
I am looking at all my Tony Hansen's Matt test tiles, the ones that I =
colored. I would say that the amount of pinholing in the cobalt tests =
make me reluctant to test it further. But the tile with just the base =
is more matt than the colored tiles, but still more glossy than matt. =
However, I will try the base at a slower cooling cycle to see if the =
matt surface is revealed. I have a Frosty Crystal glaze(posted) I use =
frequently, and with my firing cycle of 100c to 600c, 150c to 1100, 100c =
to 1220c, 15 minute soak and off, I get crystals. I have read that =
slower cooling does produce the cyrstals, so if I slow it down, maybe I =
will get bigger crystals?

As far as the Waxy White, I am fortunate to be able to use my local Frit =
in lieu Gerstely and get very similar results (Ron made me two example =
glazes to show the sub and why it works). But, after the first bad =
firing of the big batch, I made two consequent tests, very meticulously =
measured, and they fired also glossy and yellowish. =20
I will try you receipe and let you know who it works out. Thanks always =
for your input and advice. Very much appreciated.
Best regards,
Alisa in Demark
