Jeff,
I suppose one could do much worse than Niger Wood's seminal _Oriental
Glazes _. It really is very complete and thorough.

Jeffrey,
I've been researching Asian Ceramics for about 5 years
and find myself crawling around in the stacks of the library
for Archaeology books. There are many books on the general subject
of archaeology but few solely focusing on ceramics. I'm thinking
I should write the book I've been looking for. . .

Cheers,

Mark Duerr

Also
Ceramic Art in Thailand, ISBN 974-578-271-8 with English Captions and a little English Text. Good images.

Hi Jeffrey,

The Art of the Chinese Potter by Hobson and Hetherington covers the Han
through the Ming dynasties (206-1619 A.D.). It was published in New York
in 1923 and was only 1500 copies. It is a bit difficult to find, but I
have seen copies of it on bookfinder.com It has about 150 plates, some
in color and some in b&w. Some plates have 2 pots so there are about 200
pots illustrated with a paragraph description of each.

Regards, John

I have a Dover Publications paperback reissue of this book. It was
printed in 1982. For those of you who don't know, Dover's business is
reprinting books who's copyright has lapsed. BTW, the cover says, "With
192 illustrations including 43 in full color"

walk the dogs. The neighbor and his daughter were shooting clay. Maybe
I can give them some seconds.
