Mebbe you have been eating some of itHEHEHEHE......I bet, though =
you have no desire to make teabowls, you damn well could whip up some =
shiners.....I see you late tonight furtively throwing in the =
darkHOHOHOHOHO=20
I never said you hadda make teabowls......I never said I can't =
handle handles.....I was explaining why I don't need one to get a =
drink....Another source of my cup handle hatred is the established fact =
of my carving fetish.....I don't see much way to hang a big hanger on =
the side without violating the immediacy and impact of the designs.....
Leave it to only you to come up with as many reasons for putting =
handles on as I have for leaving them off, and to write it down in a =
fairly beautiful way......
I don't make domestic ware?????....well then where the hell has all =
my clay been going to!!!! I make useful pots for the food ceremony, and =
pots useful in all my ceremonies which are one ceremony which last from =
the moment I wake up till the moment I wake up...
I make teabowls to make a dime???????AHHHHAHAHAHAHEHEHEHEHOHOHO
No one "needs" a fertility mask, I hear that some people get by by =
rubbing noses in their mukluks.....
I think if you check my long pedigree you will find a plethora of =
influences....Obtaining a long pedigree with a plethora is really easy =
today.....Discretion is a little tougher nut to crack.....My biggest =
heroes are the Jomon people....I think if you check you will find them =
on a older higher pedestal than the chawan(American English =
translation-kickass teabowls).....I also have taken particular notice of =
Native American ceramic tradition....My brother Spirit Raven is a known =
story teller....the stories are sweeter than the pots from his =
mouth....the pots tell the stories....Other masters Picasso, Van Eyck, =
Unknown Celtics, early Chinese, Rembrant, Durer, Bosch, Albert Collins, =
and of course Mel, Tommy, You(Tony), David, EP riding a horse, Dannon =
riding a horse, and maybe a couple others........People who have =
directly helped my ceramic progress in a big way would include Anne =
Currier, Val Cushing, Jeff Oestricke(?), Lisa and Leah Ehrich, Barbara =
Brault, Aki, Don Taylor, Sam Clarkson........I might could do this all =
night........
Or as my son would used to say.."that's how you don't do it"=20

Aside to my newfound critics.......I never asked anyone to =
criticize any damn thing ....I especially did not ask anyone to tarnish =
the tribute bowls for me(as if).....Talk about disrespect!!!!!!talk =
about arrogance!!!!!.....I could have been one of you....When I was 18 I =
went to college and took an art class where "working artists"HEHEHEHE =
dragged their little degrees in and paraded them around the room.....One =
pompass ass said "I had a student once who I told was doing something =
wrong and he had the gall to ask me why it was wrong" Now this was no =
ordinary pompass ass .....This guy would take 6' square canvases and =
paint them all babyshit(need a definition?) green and then dribble a =
little red and white on them whilst listening to Opera(HEHEHE, What a =
scene, What a scene)......Natcherly, having been an artist for as long =
as I could remember, when question time came I asked his pompass ass =
just what it was the "student" had done wrong???......He said, =
"HARUMPH....I can't answer that" Since I had just had 6 primo paintings =
stolen by a gallery(naive me) I was feeling feisty and said, "I knew you =
could not"......I also walked out the door and went to see if anyone in =
the sign business knew anything about art....and that's another story
Those of you with thin skins should probably DELETE and definitely =
NOT be trying to critique me because I will refute your every =
point.....and if you choose to be assinine enough I will exercise a =
little DELETE action myself

Thanks Tony. Although I often hate making 'em, I feel the handle is
essential to many forms, providing grace and balance.

My very favourite potter, Takeshi Yasuda, makes THE most wonderful
plates with handles. In a workshop of his, we spent an entire day
discussing the endless possibilities of handles - it was life changing
for me.

I think Artimater might be a little rough with his wares, as he claims
to knock the handles off his forms. I guess swinging those giant
cahones around can do that.

A last thought of mine on the Tea bowl subject -- I don't know anyone
in real life who actually uses one on a daily basis. I have seen
people use them at workshops, but will just as soon choose a mug given
the choice. =20

I'm 42 and pregnant. The LAST thing I want right now is a fertility
mask.

> I think if you check my long pedigree you will find a plethora of =

I looked at your web site, and found nothing more than a hard-to-read
title and a fertility mask. there were no links to wares, or your
resume, or anything else.

Actually, it's spelled "pompous".

I actually kinda enjoy reading your rants. that said, i believe the
aforementioned "pompass (sic) ass" is you. freedom of speech means
EVERYONE gets a chance to talk and make a fool of themselves, and you
seem to have exceeded your quota.
