I remember the first Hetherington book, I think it was Chinese Ceramic
Glazes. I am glad another of his is now reissued. I plan to order it
from Dover--but I will also WRITE them that some older books are sorely
missed and should be reissued asap the copyright dies. I think it woudl be
very nice if everyone wrote to Dover to tell them how sorely some books
need reissueing. Certainly would puncture the balloon of second hand
dealers who REALLY overprice their ceramics books.
Taxile Doats was still available through PLs when I was a student. Now I
think Alfred has the Last Copy and it does not leave the house! Yet as I
recall it is a still-valid book....
Also I am astonished how little Andrew Holden's The Self-Reliant Potter
(not the Harry David or is it Davis one) or Emmanuel Coopers books are
cited in Clayart references. EC's GLAZES and his Electric Firing are
wonderfully informative.
A lot of the older books, or at least the ones not now actively in shop
windows, are available at PLs. So if people were urged towards them,
they might save a bunch of $ PLUS building pressure for re-issues

For all who want everything in Anglais: No, no, no. It's up to me to
apologize. Taxile was a French ceramist who worked here with Mrs Robineau
(not french but wealthy.)
There is a book about her. TD wrote a fat book on glazes.
