Hello Richard,
Long time.
I have a similar problem, recently identified as an
unstable sacro-iliac joint, the triangular bone at the
base of the spine, making connection with the hips. I
have been doing exercises that are helping. I also have
pain down the back of my hamstring and through the
piriformis (butt) muscle. The sciatic nerve runs through
the middle of this muscle, which if tense compresses the
nerve. There are stretches that help with this too.
If you do a search for SI Joint, you will find
descriptions that may ring true for you. I suspect that I
have had this problem since pregnancy though I am certain
that is not your cause.
Let me know if you want to know more.
Fondly,
Judy
