Folks...
There has been a huge lawsuit just settled here in the States, having to do
with Christie's and Sotheby's cheating their clients by rigging prices at
their auctions. The settlement meant lots of money for people who had
anything up for auction or who bought anything from these houses. There is
now going to be a suit filed in London, for the same thing. A friend of
mine who is a lawyer for the class action law firm that filed the suit here,
is also filing in London, and is looking for anyone there who either bought
something at auction or sold something at auction at either house in the
last 5 - 10 years.
If you know anyone who has had any dealings like this, could you please
contact me off-list? Potential for lots of money.....no loss for anyone
who might be interested. The law firm is taking out insurance which
protects any plaintiffs from paying anything. This is for real.....
Thanks,
Sandy

Great, "ambulance chasing" lawyers hit the art world. These money
hungry class action suits will be the end of life as we know it. And if
you happen to be a lawyer and a potter, please don't defend the
ambulance chasers.....

Dear Earl---I'm sorry you feel that way. Ask the holocaust survivors who
had their assets stolen by Swiss banks how they feel. This is the firm that
brought about that handled that action. Although some of these firms are
out for blood, I respenct my friend and her colleagues at that firm for
what they have accomplished.
I guess you've never had the experience of dealing with Sotheby's or
Christies, as I have.

Dear Earl---
I expect you want to be compensated for your work, don't you? How many
pots do you make pro bono??? Should everyone be compensated at exactly the
same rate and only be paid for work that does no one any good? In other
words...lawyers should only be paid for work that does not have any social
worth??? If it has a social purpose , they shouldn't get paid?
Why does everythng a lawyer does have to be denigrated and why should
reputable, respectable lawyers not get compensated for what they do? You
may have chosen a profession that doesn't pay very well...my friend didn't.
