Dear Carol,
Those tools are are designed to corrode. Place two dissimilar metals in =
a slightly acidic water environment and you have the classic =
electro-chemical circuit. Oiling them will not stop the problem. It may =
delay corrosion but it will never stop it. Those tools are doomed to =
self destruct. It happened to me with some needle tools. The needle was =
Stainless Steel, probably 12% chromium. But the handle, which corroded, =
was aluminium.
The solution. Stay with wood handles. Put in a claim on the supplier for =
a refund on the evidence I have given you. Claim inappropriate design.
