They are very bad. ANd there is no respirator that will work for them.

Just not so. You can't make any generalization about odor other than that
when you smell something there is somethere there. Duh!

But by the time you can detect some chemicals by odor you are already in
trouble. Some smelly chemicals like hydrogen sulfide are highly toxic. Some
have no odor, some have good odor warning, some have poot odor warning. It
is all over the map.

The answer is to know your particular chemicals well.

That's because the slight negative pressure of those systems gets overwhelmed
during the wax burn off. The large volume of gases created when the wax
burns fills the kiln and returns the atmosphere to postive pressure.

Especially those designed by competent engineers with dampers in them so you
can regulate the amount of positive pressure.
