wax fumes - kiln vs. wax pot

Tom -
I sure would like to get the definitive answer to this question from people
in the know. I have been told in the past that there is absolutely no
problem from the wax pot as long as the temperature is kept below 300F. If
you get the pot smoking, then you are certainly breathing toxic fumes, plus
there would be a very great fire hazard. But at lower temperatures I
understand the wax pot is relatively benign. I still advise people to vent
it.

Wax in the firing is another issue altogether, because there the wax is
actually burning, producing serious toxic fumes.
