worms and donating time and work

Donating time and work. For me one of the greatest pleasures in life is
volunteering. So when I give a pot to a "cause" I give time, plus a couple
of bucks. That is my artist's statement, etc. (Back to Philosophy 101)

No one else NEEDS do this. Anyone who does not want to give away a pot
or so, can just say no. I give zip to causes I don't believe in.

AS TO MAJOR DONATIONS. SOME OF MY FINEST FIRST EDITIONS COME FROM OF ALL
THINGS LIBRARY BOOK SALES. OTHERS SAY THE SAME. Yes.

Why? because (and here again an attorney could illuminate us) apparently
when one donates something to a library, museum, etc. they are NOT forced
to keep it. And, apparently--I may be wrong here--one cannot even force
them through a stipulation in one's will or wahtever transfers the stuff
to them. And Libraries who could get big $ for hese first editions, feel
free to sell them for 25 cents. (Although selling on he inernet may change
that.)

There has been lots of stuff in the newspapers over the years about
someone being furious about Pa's priceless artcollection being
packed up in a museum basement, or some of it sold.

I heard on TV that a gift to the White House is a gift to the Department
of Parks or something like that.
