In regards to Chris' problem of the de airing pugmill...

Have you tried wiping the edges of the de airing/vacuum chamber and the
acrylic top with a slight bead of water from a sponge? This seems to help
me keep the seal. The other thing that I have recently learned is that
keeping the compressor on but turning the pugmill off while cutting the clay
that is coming out from the nozzel will keep the pressure maintained evenly
and keep the bubbles out. Good luck.
