Just returned from the lecture of Mr. T. Shimaoka at the Minneapolis
Art Institute. They turned hundreds away from the talk, and we watched
it on closed c. TV. (it should have been in a larger venue for sure, and
wished they would have tested the microphones before he walked
up there...squaccccckkkkkkkkkkk.) His talk centered, on of course,
the mingei art movement.
His show at the Northern Clay Center is totally beautiful.
We were blessed to see it. Sardine can opening last night.
We went today, all alone in the gallery. It represents, in my opinion,
the work of a true master potter.
