Tom,
I guess it is a matter of your physical needs
versus your spiritual needs?
You could easily move towards more effort
spent on clay, which seems to be your direction
and be perfectly happy taking care of the reality
problems...that entire category of financial issues
that demand attention...with a more predictable income.
It is in large part a willingness to take risks
and also to rearrange priorities in life for
the time doing what one has to do...so ultimately
it's your choice.
The longer you do clay, the more you are open
to situations that enrich and enable you to keep
making pots....
Be open to a variety of situations...
at present, people approach me asking for things
I make...so in town I am known for what I do, which
is make ceramic objects, and they know what I do.
So I get asked to make...
All the best in your endeavors....
