There are others of us also on this list who are not satisfied that this
"theft" has actually occurred. I mentioned already that I had second
thoughts myself about the veracity of the story. Frank Gaydos, also, you
will have noticed, is looking into it seriously.

The story originated with a post by David Hendley so Vince would be better
off starting there to try to get to the bottom of this. He also could do
some legwork of his own if he is that interested.

I have not got the original post anymore or I would have reprinted it here.
My recollection is that it started with a statement from Dick Morris but I
am not certain about this.

Having given this some more thought I cannot pass up the observation that
if this dollar amount of pilfering had occured, given the current interest
in this matter by those who do have the political will to make this known
and the resources to do so, it would double or triple the dollar amount
that the wags are raging about. How is it that they would have passed this
up?

Finally, I just have to say that I am sorry that something I said gave
anybody here an opportunity to blast away at Clinton. I thought that was
inappropriate and yes, I do believe that is why it is inappropriate to
bring politics onto this list.

I'd like to hear some definitive evidence whether or not this story is true.
And regarding the "no politics on the list" credo, as far as I am concerned,
if the story involves something ceramic, then whether or not it is political
has nothing to do with it. I don't want to see anyone prostelyzing for
their favorite candidate, but if there is an issue which has political
content and is of importance to the ceramic world, then it damn well belongs
on this list.
Best wishes -
- Vince
