I have fiddled with the red and blue screws in the foot pedal, made
no discernible difference.
What could have caused it to slow down so drastically? Is there
anything further I can do to give it a full head of steam again?
Toni, Durban South Africa where the heat is NOT funny. A cyclone
(hurrican) sitting off the coast and pushing hot air onto us. Don't
need it, don't want it, had enough broiling now. Slow wheel and
heat crazed, I could well become dangerous!

I have a very old cx and the pedal works with a gear and a "toothed rod" that
slips a notch. Also check all the connections.

It may be the lever which moves could be loose. Try adjusting the slide
action of the lever. Play with moving the pedal and watch the slide
action. That is the only thing I can think of.

I also fiddled with the footpedal thingie on mine. My husband said the
whole gismo in the pedal is loose and slipping. So he tightened all
screws and it was fine. Yes? try it?
