We found we have a couple of bags of Yeloowstone Talc our studio got from a
retiring potter and would like to ask if this is a "name brand" or can it
just be used when a receipe calls for Talc. We checked the Hammer's book. No
mention of Yellowstone talc. Can you save me from having to do test
batches, etc. I already involved in the GB subsitute processes. Leave it to
our Glaze committe to try 4 of the subsitutes offered so far.

Thanks for your help.

-Pam in Michigan, al littel windy, a little snow, but deffinately brighter

Although i am not familiar with this brand name, i would assume that it is a
western us talc, if so , one could assume a little more silica and a bit
less calcia, if the journel ive been reading has their info, correct. new
york talc claiming 6.2 while western talc claiming a 1.6 . out of a 100
scale that is.
