Hey, Lisa, et al, we should not ignore the real publishing world here.

I mean, it is just possible that one of the major publishing houses would be
interested in this book. It is a very cool concept, this handmade stuff
that's come together in this digital way.

Is anyone on this list associated with a real publishing house? I do not
know who does the big coffeetable books, I mean, I am sure lots of places
publish these... Tell you what. If there is no one on the list who is in
the business, I will ask my brother, who is a fiction writer, to ask his
agent how to approach this project. The most we can get is no, and then we
can return to the self-publishing concept.

Yes?

This is the second time today someone has mentioned meatloaf to me. I
haven't eaten meatloaf in something like 5 years. I don't make it 'cuz the
better half won't eat ground mystery meat. Guess I'd better go get a roast
and grind up so I can make mel's meatloaf.
Thanks for the push, mel. Hope we get enough response to actually DO this
thing. There was a lot of enthusiasm about it just before NCECA.....until,
as someone else said to me, folks actually had to SEND something....;)
C'mon folks! It's your chance to be in print!

I'm anxiously awaiting for all the below items to happen to me, while
preparing guest rooms for Joyce and Howard, because I can only operate the
CD burner to download Napster and the scanner to put pictures on my website.
I have no idea of ESP or TIFF file extensions. I'm familiar with JPEG and
GIF only. Maybe by next cookbook time I will have found if they exist on
the new computer I will have to purchase because of the destruction that is
going to occur to the present one, according to Mel.

Regards, Carolsan - with plenty of recipes but few file extensions. :(

Can I send you a recipe along with pictures which I have taken with a
digital camera saved in TIF format? If so we could do it this weekend and
send you the CD Monday.

In response to Mel's warnings...
Bad things already happen to my computer.

My Mother won't care.

Maybe the mold will take care of the squeeks.

I'll put Nils to work and have him build a kiln, wedge clay and watch my
kids...3 & 6.

I'll even put Joyce to work.

My kiln doesn't have ITC...maybe Nils could bring some with him.

I'll post the clay recipes on to Clay Art.

I'll be able to fall asleep at night.

Tom and I could make a real kick in the pants clay body.

Don't worry, I'll find something to send, maybe my famous beef jerky or 4
cheese pizza with greek olives and red and green peppers.

ETC, ETC!

I've been thinking what a nice idea this was and would like to join in
but being from the UK was put off by the putting onto disk and posting.
Is it possible to send a JPEG picture of the pot (and the recipe) by
email instead of by snailmail? If so, could someone tell me the email
address to send it to?

I have not offered to have the images sent to me via email because images
tend to be large files, and they take forever to download when one is, as I
am, using a modem in the country. :( Also, there is the whole virus risk
thing.....

BUT -- I forgot (duh! and Janet Kaiser can kick me now) about the whole
overseas people thing....and mail takes forever to get here from anywhere
outside the USA. So.

If you want to participate in the cookbook, but you live outside the USA,
please send me a note at lpskeen@living-tree.net .

I have been offline since the middle of May. Since that time, the cookbook
idea has become a reality! Thanks to Lisa, who must have put in countless
hours of work, the book is at the printer. But now she has the reality of
paying the printer!

We have the idea of sponsors, and donations of money, which hopefully
someone will agree to work on.

Could some of us support her with seed money so the process can be speeded up?

I would be willing to send her $500 as an interest free loan to be paid
back when the books are sold. Is anyone else willing to join me? She needs
at least ten of us to make this idea fly.

The cookbook is wonderful! For those who like to keep theirs up to date,
my recipe for Roger's Rip Roaring Chile needs an up-dated email address.
citrus@fastq.com

The chile powder in the recipe is not the chile seasoning sometimes
labeled as chile powder. Chile powder is ground dried chile peppers
without any supplementary seasonings. I like Chimayo Chile Powder or New
Mexico Chile powder best, but there are several other good ones out
there.

Tempted to challenge Dannon and all other chile recipe suppliers to a
cookoff in the clayart room at NCECA in San Diego a year down the road.
(We chile cooks are slow workers.) Winner to receive a fine pot from
each participant. Judges, those who test taste the chile. (one vote
each!)

Best.

Roger
