On the subject of traveling glazes, I continue to send my tests as =
receipes. =20
I do not have a glaze calculating program as yet although it is high on =
my wish list. I could take very much time to work formulae out =
manually, I think, but I am not .Not because I do not want to, I would =
like to, but all this takes it's time on the computer as well, and I do =
not have extra time right now. When I get a program, I will be happy to =
convert. Those who do have glaze calculation programs can perhaps put =
the receipe of interest into their programs and get the information they =
need. In the meantime, I am sitting on both sides of the "traveling =
success of glazes" fence. For the reasons the John H, Mel, Tony, =
Martin and others site, we should not hope to mix up glaze receipe 23 =
from Nuka Aloofa and have instant and continued good results. But like =
Tony's good 5 x 20 base, it is a base, it travels over to thousands of =
studios, and there the ceramist has to make tests with the materials =
they have available, and go on from there. Tony says glazes to not =
travel well, but again with very much respect to Tony, I use receipes =
given the same way as I would a base. It is a start.

I never really heard of the term receipe junkie before Tony wrote it. I =
am thinking maybe I have a problem. But then I am thinking as I have all =
along, I have to kiss a lot of frogs to find a prince. I.E. I use all =
my test receipes as jumping off (get it... frog..jump) points and go =
from there with the good help of Clayart and Hamer and self discipline =
and curiousity and wanting a glaze I can count on. =20
Best regards,
Alisa in Denmark

Hi Howard,
I am right here! I understand I could be frustrating to some of the =
experts. It is a long learning curve.

RM's, I was not really understanding properly. I was not really working =
out the abreviation at all, because it just occurred to me what we are =
talking about! It went in as something to do with cars and then I =
thought must be molecular, oh what am I talking about. The raw stuff I =
make glazes with... It takes time sometimes. I am certainly not a glaze =
whiz kid and offering what I can as I go along. I need direction, help, =
prodding and suggestions all the time and am most open to it. Thank you =
for making me aware of my mistake.

Ron gave the precent analysis for my local frit to the list so others =
with a calcualator could more closely duplicate my results. I will look =
it up and be happy to send that, at least, to you for now. Otherwise, I =
will be happy to locate procent analysis of my raw materials as I can =
obtain them and pass them along to anyone who is interested.
