Laguna Clay sells cullet. They sell varieties of glass batch for
glassblowers.
Most of the glass batch sells for about 40 - 45 cents per pound.
Likely ,other ceramic suppliers sell it as well.
I plead ignorance here: don't know if cullet is a generic term for glass
batch, or is possibly
a less specific formula or lower grade, (and possibly less expensive
grade) of ground glass.
Our brief experience with cullet was when we tried an experimental
claybody using cullet instead of frit
in an attempt to lower the cost of a lowfire claybody.
This particular clay hardened in the bags quite rapidly
and was prone to splitting and cracking when worked.
I don't know the percentage of cullet added to the body
don't know if cullet was the culprit
Wanted to find out more, but didn't have the time to dink around with
it......
