Morris, Marlene F. on fri 16 mar 01
Frank Boyden will present a workshop which addresses techniques for drawing
and incising clay surfaces. Working on thrown forms and slabs, Boyden will
talk about the distortion process and demonstrate his approaches to drawing
on three-dimensional surfaces. There will be a discussion of wood firing
techniques used to enhance drawing and show why distortion of forms plays a
significant role in the process. Working with clay for over 30 years has
influenced his printmaking and large sculptures. His slide shows will
present ceramics with emphasis on drawing, prints from the past 10 years,
and sculpture from large public commissions.
