I've found this thread more informative than I thought it would be.
Not feeling even close to qualifying as making the kinds of forms I want
to make, the posts have been quickly read, then deleted ... so I don't
recall exactly who said what. My present glazes are lovely and have
been judged so for 20 years or more ... since most have been around in
somebody's recipe collection for at least that long... the mayor's, Tom
Coleman's, Dave Shaner's, Robin Hopper's, Jack Troy's, the lovely
notebook of the gentleman from Alfred, the one who just retired ... not
a bad collection, eh? They break nicely. Are stable when I apply the
glaze appropriately. Layer great. Entice me to try this and that. BUT
since viewing the Peeler tapes and Nils Lou's tapes, my hands seem to
hesitate and linger a bit longer over the clay mound which begins each
journey ... now we have claybuds' posts reacting to Our Leader's
thoughts ... think I'm desirous of slowing down a bit, letting the clay
move through my hands and see what happens... five years should be
enough experience to begin to think thusly, don't you agree? Inept as I
naturally am, no way such moves could have occurred before now ....
wonder if that's where my hopes to throw "loosely" developed ....
wouldn't it be grand to know what's happening in that old subconscious
noggin before it hits the surface?????? Especially when Clayart is
always pitching... influencing and changing our thinking, then our acts
...... an ongoing process... thank goodness.

In the Mojave, being unpretty... just old and fat (though very
happy&sassy, I hasten to add) ... and living vicariously through Elca's
meanderings .... thanks, Elca.
