My husband bought an electronic air cleaner years ago after the Mt. St.
Helens eruption because there was so much ash and dust in the air. The
salesman said it would be good for use in the studio also. We subsequently
found out that free silica does not take a charge and so an electronic air
filter is useless. It took us a long time an lots of letters and phone
calls, but Honeywell finally took the machine back because it had been
misrepresented to us.
