When casting a hump mould in a dish..bowl or whatever..you will normally =
need to lift it up to allow trimming of the edge so a protrusion of a =
loop would not be a problem but if you scoop out a recess in the centre =
of the mould while the plaster is still soft you can push in a splaying =
wire loop and add a little more plaster to tidy it up as necessary. In =
this way you can have a flush surface and still,be able to lift easily.

Two good books:Not sure if it is the exact name or author spelling: Zakin
Hand Forming and Firth book of Slip casting. I would buy the books for the
humps alone!
