NW Pyromaniacs 2001 Pit Firing Gathering

The Fourth Annual Pit Firing........
Come prepared for anything !

Firings will include large in-ground pit, above ground pits, paper kiln,
raku, horsehair raku and blackware electric saggar.

Saturday, you will prepare your pieces during the morning and early
afternoon. Late Saturday afternoon, participants will load the pots in t=
he
pits and saggar. We will then build and load a paper kiln. This will be =
our
third paper kiln, each one evolving from experience! The pits / kilns wil=
l
be lit and allowed to burn overnight. Raku kilns will be firing all day
Saturday. Plan to stay late on Saturday night.

On Sunday, everyone gathers around noon to burn shoe soles and unload our
treasures! After the oh=92s and aah=92s, we clean the pieces and join to=
gether
for a potluck dinner. Be prepared to get dirty, smoky, learn alot, meet
fellow pyromaniacs and come away with some fabulous pieces.
