unofficial "official nceca t-shirt" poll

updated mon 9 apr 01

Just had this thought after reading the archives and seeing Jim Connell's
recent post about buying leftover Official NCECA T-shirts... I emailed him
about this thought, and wondered if I was alone in suggesting that NCECA
offer XXXL sizes in addition to what they had at the conference in the future.

How many of you out there would like to see NCECA offer "extended sizes" in
their "official NCECA T-shirts" in the future?

I just got a response from Jim C. that said... "We printed up about 20-25
XXXL and they all sold."

Obviously, I had no idea that they even had any XXXL sized shirts in the
first place, and I was there in the afternoon on TUESDAY the day BEFORE the
conference... so... that tells me that they sold out of them VERY fast... and
that there should be many more in that size available.

Hey... I'd like to fit into an XL again... or even an XXL... but that fact of
the matter is... I like my shirts to be extra roomy anyway... and inevitably
(no matter how hard I try not to) my clothes usually end up in a hot dryer or
a hot washing machine and shrink. Any of you feel the same way?

Lisa Skeen mentioned in her list of disappointments that they were out of
smaller sizes AND larger sizes. I know that I'd have bought a shirt had they
had one in 3XL... as it is... there aren't many shirts I can wear that boast
my passion for clay. What do you guys think? Would you like to see more
smaller and extended sizes offered at the future conferences? Maybe we can
let NCECA know so that they can accommodate us? Any thoughts?

20-25 shirts seems like a piddly amount for the masses I saw at the
conference last week. Maybe that should've been 200-250 shirts.

Just my two cents... for whatever it's worth. :-)

Ken,
You are not alone; I sent the very same message to Jim. I can wear a 2x, but it will shrink and I will
have wasted $17. Potters come in all shapes and sizes. Shirts should too.

PS: Chris Schaefle was nice enough to get some 3x shirts for the Empty Bowls thing when I asked
her to do, hope NCECA will too.

Any other folks besides Lisa and myself want to chime in on this? Just trying
to get some feedback before I contact NCECA. Thanks.
