Dear Tom,
Thanks for your full description of the method you used. I did the very =
same sort of firings many years ago though I did not introduce tin at =
any stage in the process. I agree with you that this is a great way of =
creating a most unusual copper red surfaces.
Knowing that metals are vaporised and used in other processes, for =
example, in a sputtering technique under high vacuum conditions to apply =
decorative coatings I think it might be wise to say that the method we =
used is Metallic Salt Glazing.=20
Which still leaves my original question unanswered.
