Hi Sandy,

A couple things to try:

1. Mix dry ingredients together first, thoroughly. Then add water slowly, stirring thoroughly, working from a consistency of thick paste to finally a glaze of the consistency you normally use.

2. Depending on the amount of glaze being mixed (100g or 1000g), first add few drops to maybe a teaspoonfull of liquid dish detergent to the copper oxide and blend together, then slowly add water in small amounts while stiring until the mix can be easily poured. Mix all other dry ingredients together with the amount of water you normally use, then pour in the copper oxide/water mix while stirring.
(The idea here is to break the surface tension of the water when it is added to the copper oxide and allow it to wet the copper oxide particles.)

Having a terrible time getting the red copper ox. to incorporate into the glaze, it floats on the top and looks pretty awful. Any hints on mixing up glazes high in copper oxide or carbonates???? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanx in advance!
