Rhonda
Katherine Ross from the Chicago Art Institute's Ceramic Program takes
photoshop images and prints them with her printer onto decal paper then
fires them onto the ceramic surface. There seems to be a certain amount of
iron oxide in the printer's ink that yields a sepia color when it is fired.
She has a packet of information on the process that she may share with you.

Dennis,
John W. Conrad, in his book of "Contemporary ceramic techniques", has a
chapter on photos on ceramics. He has a bibliography on photosensitized
ceramics and silkscreen. He also lists sources for custom photo work. Mia
