Aluminum is often gotten from antiperspirants, pots and pans, antacids, etc.
As you've probably read recently, it has now been proven in Alzheimers and
is suspected in many other illnesses. I don't know much about arsenic.

Cindi,
Quite the opposite is true the putative link between Alzheimer's and alumina
is now disproved. As much as anything in science is ever proved or
disproved. Alumina in fact has a reasonably clean bill of health ( pun
intended) as Monona would no doubt tell you if she bothers to get in on this
question.

Some of these things were talked about in depth and should be in the archive
for last year. (2000).

I wonder if your student was exposed to the mercury and arsenic through
seafood? Some seafoods will give high natural arsenic levels which aren't a
cause for concern, but of course the mercury is always a cause for concern.
As for the aluminum, does she use aluminum cookware, by any chance? She
might have been exposed to these things in many ways, including her work
with clay.
