A friend at his no beard time, saved money to our kibbutz, using a method he
learned in the U.S. navy (until 1945), he sharpened his razor blades on the
sides of glass cups. What a great person!
I think the price of most of these tools, allow you to replace them. Of
course you may use a small grinding stone plus a smoothing stone called
"Arkansas stone" very expensive, probably in tour side of the ocean too.
