I would be quite happy to close this discussion with one thought.
Use "Consolidate" to imply that all the little defects which may succumb =
to excess stress and cause some form of fracture are being eliminated by =
having some clay moved into the space where they exist. This takes care =
of ; voids which open up when big bits of grog move; fissures which open =
up when clay shears; small bubbles which remain even though we have =
wedged to get a uniform paste; voids which open when clay folds rather =
than slides; coarse scratches or turning lines.
If allowed to persist, these flaws, or defects, are places where high =
stress can cause a crack or fracture to start.
Consolidate can be explained. It give clear, concise reasons in concrete =
terms we may all understand. Give clay a bit of a push, a nudge and it =
sticks to itself. Stength is restored.
Best regards and thank you for all the interest which has been shown.

There has been a good word there for a long time, it is "THROWING", learn to
do it right and all the raving on this matter can be put where it belongs,in
the dustbin.
