I am starting on the journey, sounds like some sort of crazy =
addiction! Anyway i LOVE the carbon trapping(Malcolm Davis your pots are =
marvelous). Now I am confused as to which technique gives the most =
carbon trap-firing right away or letting the pots sit to form crystals.I =
am guessing the firing right away?!?! I also do love the color of orange =
on pots and have seen some really nice shino crackle glazes come out of =
a gas reduction kiln. Does it make a large difference in how the piece =
is fired as to wood, gas or soda? I know, a novice here so please be =
nice! I am doing a soda firing next weekend and have some pots sitting =
with two different shino glazes on them thinking that was the way to get =
the carbon trapping. I think that now I will also glaze a few the night =
before to see what else I get. Is the soda ash/hot meant to be used =
alone or underneath another Shino glaze? Also Mel were the glaze recipes =
that you received from Malcolm posted at all? where was the black shino =
article? Thanks for the interesting posts and I will let you know if =
Lady Luck is on my side next weekend.
