Someone (can't remember who, but if you recognize yourself, thanks!) told=
me to put
the propane tank in a tub of water to prevent freeze up. I have been fir=
ing with
20 (BBQ grill size) tanks for about 6 years and have not had a freeze up =
since I
started putting the tank in water from the start of the firing. I use th=
em until
they are completely drained, so I know the trick works. Don't know what =
would
happen if you turned a hose on a large tank that had frozen - anybody hav=
e an
idea? Nita

I cannot tell you how many times I have stood out in the cold, well, not =
what a lot of people would call cold since I live in South Texas, but col=
d enough so that the low level of propane was turning to a liquid because=
of the weather and doused my 250 gallon tank with the water hose to keep=
it warm enough to get the cones down. I hate myself but save the firing=
.. It works great. Now, I haven't done this when it was cold enough to f=
reeze the hose, of course. Ann Sciba, Wharton, TX
