Creative Clay Studios in Alexandria, Virginia has arranged another wood
firing workshop with Mizue Croswell of Berryville, Virginia (convenient
to Washington, DC.). My students and I have helped out at Mizue's a
number of times, and have always had a congenial time, worked hard, and
gotten really good pots! Mizue and her husband Clyde are very helpful
and take care to involve everyone in the process. (Of course, the
mechanical log splitter is a real blessing! )
Here is the info:
Day 1: May 26, 9am-6pm
Decorate, wad and help load kiln.
Day 2: May 27, 6am-10pm
Help fire kiln, and prepare wood for next firing
Day 3: June 2, 10am-2pm
Unload kiln, clean shelves
Cost is 125 dollars, which includes continental breakfast, refreshments
and dinner Days 1 and 2.
Bring a variety of 10-15 bisqued pots (small to large). Attendance is
limited to 10 people.
