Apologies Clayart,
I hope it never comes to writing more apologies than alert messages.
Thanks a million Craig. I will probably see loads more since there are =3D
so many Clayarters that easily keep their eyes and minds sharp.
Oiy, why do I do this?? So sorry, I have same message from Tom in my =3D
book and I can still read it backwards. Good you are checking, really =3D
good. My only excuse is because I was subbing from Strontium to Barium, =
=3D
because at the time I had no Strontium. I do not think too many persons =
=3D
would want to sub. Barium for Strontium, but the other way around, and =3D
now we all have it correct. I hope someone reading my mistake in the =3D
archives, gets to read this very important message also. Feeling like a =
=3D
dummy and apologies,
Alisa in Denmark

100 gr. Barium is replaced by 133 gr. Strontium."
I think that Alisa may have this conversion backwards. The hyperlink =3D
supplied below will take you to the archives and a post from Tom Buck, =3D
the meat of which is quoted below.
http://www.escribe.com/art/clay/m59944.html
"So 1 mole of BaO is replaced by 1 mole of SrO from the carbonates
originally --147.6 SrCO3 is equivalent to 197.3 BaCO3, or 100 grams =3D
BaCO3
is replaced by 147.6/197.3 x 100 =3D3D 74.8 grams (75 is ok because the =3D
stuff
is not pure)."
Cheers,
Craig
