This thread gives me the opportunity to recount a funny story about my =3D
early raku experiences at Syracuse.

We were enthusiastically rakuing for one of the first times, without any =
=3D
safelty clothing, when I could not see anything suddenly and I =3D
definitely smelled burnt hair. When I could see clearly I thought it =3D
had begun to snow again, not unusual for Syracuse, where we could cross =3D
county ski out to Collendale, the clay studio. =3D20

I singed all my eyelashes off, the front of my hair, beginning a really =3D
cool cropped bang look, and melted the front of my nylon down jacket so =3D
all the feathers were flying freely around the ashes of my eyelashes.

Wear goggles, boots and clothes that do not melt. I would not mow the =3D
lawn in sandals.

Best regards,
