I mix my bentonite in 5 gallon buckets the night before. I use two per 200
pound batch. I, too, mix one ton at a time and it is no problem provided
you have lots of buckets. I put in bentonite and blunge for about 2
minutes. Then I let it sit overnight. In the morning I blunge for two
minutes and I'm good to go. It swells nicely. And mixes in great.
I also use cider vinegar to help with flocculation and beer to encourage
organic growth.
