I have had the smallest deairing bluebird model for about 13 years, with =
only
about
2 minor problems and have been thrilled with the response to bluebird on =
the
phone as far as help in troubleshooting any problems. If you need parts, =
they
ship them promptly. I am thoroughly pleased with it. I even saw them a=
t
the NCECA Conference and discussed a possiblity that it was not pulling a
strong enough vacuum and they told me how to fix it. GREAT machine! I =
love
it!

we are considering the purchase of a de-airing pugmill and are currently
looking at Venco and Shimpo models. We would be appreciative of the
collective clay community wisdom--both pros and cons as well as other
models!

Thanks in advance for your help,
Susan Patt

Hi Susan,
Don't overlook the Peter Pugger! We really like
the job it does for us and also the size-much
shorter that some of the others I believe. It
is a 'hardy' machine all the way. --Reg

Our Shimpo de-airing gets a regular workout. I can certainly recommend the
purchase of these units. The only change we made was to get a pipe and
flatten the end so that it would slip on the short handle as a replacement
for the original extension handle. Much easier on the hands.
It is a quick job to clean out for a change in clay body. Comes apart
easily. We have it on a metal framed wheeled unit with the separate air
unit on a shelf underneath the pugmill, framed in with 1x1 so that it does
not "walk" from vibration. We have it set up by an old formica topped
office desk, a clay bag under the extrusion allows it to run out the width
of the desk. I have had it for 3 years - problem free. MarjB ps: need the
full 15 amps, so a dedicated line is a good idea or plug in the extruder to
a receptable on one line and air unit to one on an other line.
