just to jump on:

drilling in soft brick is easy. just do it.
go slow, take your time.

another way to drill a neat hole, is to use brass tubing.
i buy it in hobby stores...get about a foot. clamp it into
your drill motor, then insert and turn on the motor...it
just slices right through. take out the plug of brick now
and then. makes a great hole for thermocouple, oxyprobe.etc.

i keep several sizes around.

ready to pour concrete on monday. 72x28..one pour. man, getting ready is a
pain, but
fun. guys with big machines...smiles around.
orioles are in...hords, towee's, indigo buntings, rose breased gross beaks.
hard to work with all the visitors...and that damn mrs. wren, makin all that
noise. the pristine world of rural building...then the hydraulic hose breaks
on the cat....string of gd, f, cs rings out...all head for cover. lyle is
on the loose.
but, it gets fixed. just money. now, where do i get that fuel line for my
husqavarna?...stehl won't fit. damn. (chain saw talk)
