there is little we can do on this end.
john is losing hair over aol.

we have had about 50 posts this week
about aol problems...(and thanks to those
will clear heads...not blaming, just wondering.)

it does show most of you that this is a crap server.
expensive, slow, and tiresome. i know that many have
to have the national ability, and that is important.

from my standpoint, it has given me several computers.
aol 5.0 eats them...and i can usually fix them.
so, it is good for me. (son in laws company throws them away,
and i salvage them...including my baby laptop.)

i prefer paying the small price for my roaming number here at
the farm. i like pclink, now purchased three times. still all service
and that is important.

so, sorry folks. my advice, change servers if you can.
go local, get to know them.

Maybe this could be another area where Clayart could demonstrate its
influence. With 3000 users and the "popularity" of AOL there must be a
couple hundred Clayarters on AOL. If those users got together and presented
AOL with the possibility of those couple hundred pulling out en-masse, they
might sit up and take notice.

But then again, with their millions of users world wide, they might not.
;-)

mel's advice is good, go local, get to know them. I joined Skynet when they
were still small, recognised voices and knew names when I called them, good
service, nice people. Many of them left when they were absorbed by the
national telephone monopoly Belgacom. Service got a lot worse. Fortnately, I
don't have to depend on their service too often.

if you are going to leave aol, the first thing
that i would do is:

call your credit card company and tell
them that you will not pay any bills to
aol....cancel the credit card payment first.

then, you will get results from aol/.
i know.
