flaking itc 213

Hi,
I followed Nils Lou's instructions for cleaning and then dipping my new
elements in ITC 213 last November. I fired them in a 06 bisque and had
brown flakes everywhere. I called ITC and Alice reassured me that that was
normal and that I could even expect this to happen two or three more times
until things settled down. She suggested I do another bisque firing before
doing a glaze firing. I did and had flakes again which I vacumned. Then I
did a glaze to ^6 and the few flakes produced just brushed right off and
since then, no problem.

I hope this information is of some assistance.

Best regards, Carol
