good morning all!

Time for another life transition, so we're offering our teaching studio
business for sale. It is a solid and profitable business and is fairly
well-known and respected in the Charlotte community. We would love to find
a new owner that will nurture and grow it, and continue to provide a
positive, creative environment for the students that have supported us over
the years, as well as the new ones that arrive every session.

Photos of the studio (as well as the text that follows) can be seen at
www.geocities.com/claygroundpottery/forsale.html
Please feel free to view them.

We have an excellent group of students (over 50 adults!) some of which have
been with us more than 2 years. They are excited for us, anxious for
themselves, and we are all committed to placing the studio in good hands.
We are continuing our class schedule and do not plan to close the studio,
and are ready to make a transition at any time.

We will provide detailed business documentation (p&l's, op costs, etc) for
anyone with serious interest at their request.
In addition, we own the property the studio is located on and will consider
any serious purchase offers.

Please feel free to email offlist with any questions.

Sincerely,

Mark and Katherine Boyd

Pottery Teaching Business For Sale Charlotte, NC

The Clayground Pottery is a well established and profitable teaching studio
situated in a rapidly developing area in South Charlotte. The teaching
studio business is to be sold as a whole, including all equipment, fixtures,
tools, and supplies, including but not limited to kilns, wheels, throwing
tools and accessories, dry chemicals, mixed glazes, all procedural and
administrative documentation, and all business support information.

The studio has been in operation at this location for over 2 years, and was
established in 1995. Most classes are scheduled for evening hours, and the
student population is largely professional female, aged 30-55. Children’s
classes and summer camps are also conducted, along with occasional special
events and parties. This business model has resulted in steadily increasing
and very respectable profits since the fall of 1997. Average yearly income
with a 30-hour workweek is $18,000 when no contract labor is used. There is
great potential for the expansion of daytime operations, which would
increase revenues and profitability.

The building is owned by the sellers and has been remodeled to function as a
teaching studio. There is one small rental studio within, currently
occupied. There are separate rooms for gallery/retail, handbuilding, glaze
lab, and kiln room, as well as a large tile floor wheel room and glazing
room. There are currently 11 electric wheels and 2 large electric kilns.
There is also on-property parking front and back. The owners will lease the
building to the new buyer for continued operation of the studio, and will
consider serious purchase offers for the building in conjunction with the
purchase of the business.

This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to obtain a fully functional,
profitable, established studio that requires no startup investment or
energy. In addition, the student population already exists, and is
increasing each session. A new owner will be able to walk in, continue the
existing operation, and realize profit immediately. You can view the studio
and its’ current schedule at www.geocities.com/claygroundpottery.

Additional details can be obtained by email request at
mailto:claygroundpottery@yahoo.com. Please note that the business is to be
sold as a whole, as is. No equipment will be sold as a piece. The total
selling price, all inclusive is $13,000.
