kiln trouble...

Hiya,
I am new to this group, and I have a really complicated problem that
I would really appreciate a bit of advice on...
I am an American who lives in Ireland, where it is very expensive to
buy even a small kiln. While I was home in Michigan last summer, I
found an old kiln in a junk shop for $50, spent six months and another
$400 shipping it to Ireland, and now it's in the garage, and the REAL
problems have begun..
The kiln was made by the Evenheat Kiln Co., and the plate says 220
volts, 9300 watts, 42 amps, and the cone sitter says 230v, 45 amps. The
issue is, can I run this kiln off of the domestic service, and if so,
how? I've got lots of advice from electricians but no answers as
Americans aren't sure about the European electrics and vice versa. What
I'm hoping is that someone out there has some knowledge of electrics
and/or has used an American kiln in Europe and been through this
already. I have written to the company for a manual and wiring
schematic, which should help but it's going to be difficult finding a
sparks here in Ireland who has the specialised knowledge to pull it
off, the ones I've spoken to just don't know, in fairness, it's pretty
obscure...
I really hope someone can help me out, I have this big beautiful
kiln and we're itching to get making some tiles, this kiln has
travelled from a barn in the upper peninsula of Michigan all the way to
Co. Cork and it's breaking my heart to have it sitting cold and lonely,
if anyone can help or knows someone who can, please help!
Thanks,
Jessamyn, Cork City
