Dorman Family on tue 22 may 01
Hi All,
I'm a newbie and have been enjoying reading the posts of the past few days.
I've been away from clay for some time, and have just ordered an Olympic
Hot Box kiln and 25 lbs. of Laguna B-Mix 5 for handbuilding miniature
sculpture (probably mostly cats.) I live in Kodiak, Alaska, and the cost of
shipping is hideous, so I ordered what I hope will be sufficient to keep me
happy for a while. I have been wondering, though, if there are any
companies out there that offer small samples of different clays and/or
glazes. For miniature work, a small amount goes a long way, and it would be
wonderful to avoid having to pay shipping for heavy orders.
I'd also like to know of any web sites featuring clay art in miniature, and
would appreciate being directed to any such.
My goodies should be arriving this week - I'm most excited and anxious to
get my fingers muddy - and can't wait to start experimenting with
pastels/conte crayons on clay, thanks to this list!
