I often make newspaper 'tents' to let
things dry evenly, since it slows the
drying just a bit and blocks drafts.
It allows for good evaporation, though.
When I want to keep things wet to work on,
I use fabric (preferably cotton knit)
inside the plastic bag; it holds more
moisture. The fabric holds moisture, more
than I could apply by just spraying the
clay surface, and helps rehydrate fast-
drying clay, but also absorbs the condensation
inside the plastic, and prevents drips and
puddles.
(Keeping things damp may be less of an
issue in the UK; in the desert, it's an
ongoing challenge and an art in itself.)
